Well, I’m planning on taking the GRE when I start my Senior year (I’m a junior coming this fall so I have like a year! LoL!) I’ve been reading similar questions about the GRE on here and some say it’s just harder that SAT/ACT tests, others say it’s the hardest thing they’ve ever took. I was wondering how hard is the GRE compared to those other tests on a range? Oblivious, the GRE is going to be harder than the ‘College entrance exams’ like the ACT we took a few years ago, but exactly how much harder?

Ok, I know this may come across as a dumb question to some, but I’m a little confused. Can an ATM-cu m-debit card (with a visa/mastercard logo) be used to make payments where they specify credit cards only? I remember I once used one of my debit cards with a mastercard logo to make an online payment that required a credit card. It asked me for a verisign key and I was done. It even deducted the amount from my account as it should have. Now, I recently made an online payment for GRE with a different ATM cum debit (Visa) card. The weird thing is, I have recieved confirmation from their end that the exam is scheduled but the deduction does not show up in my account statement? I’m curious if the payment has actually been made or need I do something else?!

Hi
I’m a student of civil engineering (sophomore) at University of Tehran, Iran. My grades are good and I think I can get good grades
for the GRE and TOEFL exams. My sole purpose is to continue my studies in the US or Europe or Australia or Canada after I graduate. The problem is that I’ve
heard from some people that civil engineering is a major that universities are not interested in and they give fellowships and funds
to very few civil engineering graduate students(compared to majors like mechanical and electrical engineering). I’ve also heard that there are
very few jobs for civil engineers(especially in the US) and that everything has been built in these countries and they don’t need civil engineers anymore! Now, are these things true? Can I get a fellowship (if my grades are good) after I graduate?
Please help me!
P.S: I’m good at math and I like subjects in civil engineering that are rich in math (like mechanics or matrix methods of structural analysis)

I’m currently a junior studying psychology and am wanting to apply to I/O Psychology graduate school. Currently, I have a 3.68 GPA, am a research assistant for an I/O based lab, a member of Psi Chi Psychology National Honor Society, and got a 1150 GRE. The program stats say last year the average GPA was a 3.4, GRE was an 1124 for first time enrolled. I can get good letters of recommendation too from my research staff when it comes time to apply. What do you think my chances of getting in are?

I’m currently on L1 Blanket Visa working at a client location in United States for 2 years. Now, I want to pursue higher studies here and ultimately get a permanent job in United States. People might suggest to write GMAT/GRE test and apply to universities. Will USCIS view my case as a special one and create problems for me getting the student Visa, since I am already residing in United States for 2 years now? In other words, I’m asking the CURRENT trend of working professionals getting Student Visa who reside in United States (on L1 or H1 VISAs)

are all the score you get from practice test like “gre Bible” and “kaplan” depict your real score?

becase i have heard that GRE score depends on how many answers you do correctly in beginning and your score automatically increases
But these softwars decide score on how many Q’s your answered correct?

I had promised my sister that i shall give my gre exam last month but due to lack of confidence in my preparation i said next month to her again which has made her mad at me.I dont want to give the exam in hurry as i want to score good at my first attempt.Else there will be people around saying , even after studying i did not score well and i shall loose my chances. They tell me to give my exam on time else i have to loose a year.I understand this fact but how can i compete as i am a average learner.Since i have postpone my plans for giving exam next month has given a feel to my sister that i am not serious about my studies which is not correct. In fact i am studying seriously but i am not a scholar and a average student who needs some time to study this exam. How can i make her believe that i am serious about my studies and the reason i postponed is not bcoz i am not serious but i need to give my best once for this exam. What should i say to her. Please advice.
